Through my studies I had the incredible opportunity to travel to New Zealand, partaking in the research and analysis of agricultural land along Ohau River. It was here we learnt a deep understanding of the cultural and historical significance of the land and the ways in which the landscape had been damaged through agricultural practice.

On this trip my research partner and I had the opportunity to research and work alongside the Te Hākari wetland system on site. We began to understand the problematic nature of a fast growing weed within the waterways, proposing a series of processes to not only remove the plants, but reuse them in a proposed method of wetland expansion remediation.

I continue to feel a strong connection to this landscape and the lessons I learnt, all of which I tried to capture through photography!
